There was a show on tonight about gravity.
I’ve seen it before. It’s called, What on Earth Is Wrong With Gravity. It’s on Discovery Science…of course.
But I don’t always understand these physics shows on the first…10 or 11 tries…so I usually watch them more than once.
Anyway, a British rockstar professor (Dr. Brian Cox) is traveling the world to try to figure out the puzzle of gravity. It’s so interesting to watch people try to unlock the mysteries of the universe. They look ‘out there’ to see what they can learn about what goes on ‘down here’…They plot and chart and send and receive. All in the name of science.
And it’s great! Especially this study of gravity and physics. This is what allows us to navigate across town or soar through the skies and space. Our watches work. We can get to the moon and beyond.
But I also have to remember to tip my hat to the mystics…those meditators who go within and explore what is going on in the inside world. Their imparted wisdom may not allow us to navigate the world ‘out there’, but maybe it helps us navigate our feelings and emotions ‘in here’. Our bodies can’t soar through the air, but maybe our spirits can soar with happiness.
I donno. It’s worth thinking about.
We are engineered lately to believe that the things of the universe are all the things we can see, touch, feel, and taste. But for millenia, there have been those who suggest that there is so much more. There is spirit within or around and energies that permeate us and influence us.
These things are not planets or stars…silver or gold…tables or chairs.
They are more than that.
And maybe they are worth studying and exploring, too.
